Subject:
Ray Milland Excellent in "Meet Mr. McNutley"
What a pleasure to view this episode after hearing the radio version some 55+ years ago. It was good on radio and is a delight on film. Phyllis Avery and Ray Milland made a good team along with an excellent supporting cast. The year of this film was the same year that Ray Milland starred in Hitchcock's "Dial M For Murder."

Ray Milland's first TV series
After years of being a successful movie actor, Ray decided to go into television with this situation comedy (which also had a radio version, sponsored by General Electric, at the same time), appearing on CBS' Thursday night schedule at 8pm(et) in the 1953-'54 season. However, Ray wasn't completely satisfied with his character's last name, insisting it be altered for the following season, along with the title {he became 'Professor Raymond McNULTY' on "THE RAY MILLAND SHOW", which lasted another season}. This episode originally aired on April 29, 1954. General Electric did not own NBC at the time, but sponsored several TV programs on the various networks {including "I MARRIED JOAN" on NBC, and "GENERAL ELECTRIC THEATER" on CBS}.
